About The farm
meet the farmer
Hi, I’m Tim.
I started Down to the Dirt Farm in 2025 after spending several years working on handscale, organic-practicing, and ecologically focused farms throughout Worcester County.
Farming has been a dream since 2011, when I visited a local organic farm as part of a sustainability course while studying at Worcester State University.
That experience shaped how I think about food systems, land-use, and where I fit into the equation.
My goal is to provide high-quality, nutrient-dense vegetables while supporting a way of farming that’s practical, responsible, and built to last.
HOW WE GROW
Ethical growing and sustainability can mean different things to different farms.
At Down to the Dirt Farm, it means:
Using organic fertilizers and soil amendments
Avoiding synthetic pesticides and herbicides
Relying on crop rotation to manage pests and disease
Practicing minimal tillage
The goal isn’t just to protect the soil, but to improve it over time, leaving it stronger and more productive for future growing seasons.
Based on Potter Hill in Grafton, Massachusetts, Down to the Dirt Farm provides fresh, harvested vegetables through seasonal CSA shares and weekly produce pre-orders.
Everything is grown with careful planning so harvests stay predictable, waste is minimized, and vegetables are picked as close to pickup as possible.

ABOUT ORGANIC CERTIFICATION
Down to the Dirt Farm is not currently certified organic.
Certification is a long-term goal, but not one we prioritize at the moment. While certification can be a useful tool for marketing, it is not necessary to be certified to grow with integrity.
We’re always happy to provide transparency into our growing practices.
